We’re thrilled to share an exciting update with our Preferred Physical Therapy family. As of this August, our beloved practice is entering a new chapter! Trevor, the founder, and owner of Preferred Physical Therapy will be passing the torch to David Levkovich, a seasoned physical therapist and healthcare leader. This transition marks a positive and promising change for both our staff and the amazing patients we serve every day.

First and foremost—Trevor isn’t going anywhere! He will continue to treat patients in the clinic, maintaining the personalized, high-quality care you’ve come to expect. His passion and dedication have been instrumental in building this practice into the supportive, welcoming place it is today. His ongoing presence ensures that the heart of the practice remains the same, even as we grow and evolve.

David Levkovich, our new owner, brings with him over 10 years of clinical experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care. David is also the owner of Florida Movement Therapy Centers, which operate in Boca Raton and Boynton Beach. His practices are known for their outstanding one-on-one care and attention to individualized rehabilitation, values that perfectly align with what we’ve always strived for at Preferred Physical Therapy.

What makes this change so special is that Trevor and David share the same core philosophy: rehab should be tailored, compassionate, and built on strong patient-provider relationships. They both believe in treating the whole person—not just the injury—and their shared vision ensures that the clinic you trust will continue to thrive.

Looking ahead, we have exciting plans in the works! Under David’s leadership and with Trevor’s continued involvement, we are aiming to expand our services, strengthen our team, and enhance the overall patient experience. Our mission remains the same: to provide outstanding care with integrity, expertise, and a personal touch.

We are grateful for your trust and support as we move forward into this new era together. Whether you’ve been with us since the beginning or recently joined our community, we want you to know that Preferred Physical Therapy will always be a place where your care and well-being come first.

Thank you for being part of our journey. We can’t wait to show you all the wonderful things we have in store!

Did you know that for a lot of people, their knee pain is not actually due to a problem with the knee, but one with the hip? At Preferred Physical Therapy, we frequently observe that a problem originating in the hip can be first felt as knee pain and vice versa.

You might wonder how this is possible. The answer lies in what’s known as the kinetic chain, where the hip and knee joints work together. The interconnection means that an imbalance or dysfunction in one joint can lead to compensation and pain in the other. The good news is our therapists can help you figure out the source of your pain and, more importantly, guide you back to health.

To move towards a healthier, active life, we recommend you consult with one of our physical therapists as soon as possible!

At Preferred Physical Therapy, our physical therapists will conduct a comprehensive evaluation, and distinguish whether you’re dealing with an issue in your hip, knee, or both.

After completing the evaluation, we’ll design a program focusing on the actionable steps you can take to ensure long-term relief and prevention of future injuries, including the following:

  • Tailored Therapeutic Exercises: Our therapists will provide you with stretching and strengthening exercises to help restore your mobility and function. For example, eccentric training focuses on elongating a muscle under tension, proving particularly effective in strengthening muscles and improving mobility.
  • Neuromuscular Re-education: This involves using exercises and manual techniques to restore normal muscle function and movement patterns. These techniques are especially effective in reducing pain and enhancing function, especially in individuals with hip and knee pain.

Our therapists go beyond the surface, digging deep into your symptoms to identify the underlying issues and determine the true origin of your pain, whether the hip, the knee, or both. Our goal is to build a program that helps you get back to living your best life!

Are you ready to embrace a lifestyle that promises better mobility and less pain? At Preferred Physical Therapy, we are here to guide you every step of the way, fostering a future where you feel better, move better, and live better!

For a safe and body-friendly kayaking or paddle boarding experience, keep these practical strategies in mind:

  • Mindful Paddling: Prioritize good posture and technique. Engage your core, maintain a straight back, and use your legs to generate power. This distributes the effort evenly, reducing strain on your shoulders and back. Using proper form enhances your performance and safeguards against overuse injuries.
  • Full-Body Effort: Think of kayaking and paddleboarding as whole-body workouts. Involve your legs, core, and back in every stroke, not just your arms. This balanced approach lessens the risk of muscle imbalances and discomfort.

By incorporating these principles into your water adventures, you’ll have a blast on the water and take care of your body. Kayaking and paddleboarding can be both enjoyable and body-friendly when you paddle smart.

August Word Scramble

Due to the ever-changing world of healthcare, and the field of physical therapy, Preferred Physical Therapy Associates has decided to establish a Membership Program, to maintain the high quality of care we have provided for 18 years. We believe this program will help us establish and maintain our relationships with our patients, build trust with our patients, and allow us to offer enhanced services to the Members. We believe this program will serve the best interests of both the practice and our Member patients. All patients of Preferred Physical Therapy Associates are eligible to become Members of the PT Program. In fact, we hope that all our patients become Members, although we do offer the option of opting out of Membership.
